The Bees' Knees

An unscented hand, face, and body soap that's free of artificial coloring.

This soap's orange color is natural and varies from batch to batch and from bar to bar, as a result of several phenomena:

• Caramelization and darkening of the sugars in the honey at soap-making temperatures
• Natural coloration of red palm butter (orangutan-safe, organic & sustainable)
• Natural coloration of beeswax
• Ambient temperature as the soap cures

The lather sometimes even has an orange tinge to it!

The honey and beeswax are from the soapmaker's apiary, and the goats' whey is a remnant from straining the Turkish-style yogurt the soapmaker creates from her neighbors' goat milk. All as local as it gets,  from right here in Bennington.

Ingredients: Goat whey**; saponified RSPO-certified sustainable red palm butter*, saponified coconut oil*, saponified olive oil, saponified rice bran oil, saponified castor oil, saponified shea butter*, saponified beeswax**; honey**; sodium lactate; citric acid
